Artist Statement
My painting practice explores time/memory and space. I’ve worked with photographs, photo as reference, spray paint, acrylics, mixed media, natural materials including, hide, willow, sand, dirt, trees, bark, visual media and projection. I believe that the materials I use and work with really depend on the project and theme that best suits it.
I research my traditional stories and I like to study maps. These are an influential part for me to study as these are our ancestral territories that needs to be highlighted and preserved. These stories and research help guide my views and I interpret them into my Art. My future goals are to continue to make Art and research Traditional stories to help pass this knowledge down to our Children and preserve my culture for future generations.
